South Otselic’s 7th Annual Fishing Heritage Day

Saturday May 16, 2015


In recognition of South Otselic’s historic sport fishery and internationally prominent fishing line industry, a special day-long celebration is planned for Saturday, May 16, 2015 in cooperation with New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the Town of Otselic, Trout Unlimited and the Otselic Valley Grange’s annual Community Garage Sale Day.   This special event will be held from  9 am until 4 pm at DEC’s Fish Hatchery, located on State Hwy 26 in South Otselic, New York, and at the Otselic Town Park. 

People of all ages and interests are invited and welcome to attend this special day, which includes the Otselic Valley Grange’s annual community garage sales and beef barbecue luncheon.  Attendance is free, free parking is available throughout the village, and a free bus shuttle will operate between the Town Park and the State Fish Hatchery.  Food will be available at the community’s local eating establishments, at the local Grange and from local nonprofit organizations set up in the Town Park.

 Local Sponsorships $25:  Businesses and individuals are invited to help sponsor this event.  For $25, sponsors’ names will appear on the event brochure/place mat, which will be distributed prior to, as well as during the event.  Names will also be on the website and posted on a special display at the Town Park during the event.

 Place mat/Brochure Listings $15:  Business ads will be listed on a place mat/brochure, featuring the event’s schedule of activities.  These place mat/brochures will be distributed to the area businesses.
