South Otselic’s 4th Annual Fishing Heritage Day

In recognition of South Otselic’s historic sport fishery and internationally prominent fishing line industry, a special day-long celebration is planned for Saturday, May 19, 2012 in cooperation with New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the Chenango Valley Trout Unlimited and the Otselic Valley Grange’s annual Community Garage Sale Day. This special event will be held from 9 am until 4 pm at DEC’s Fish Hatchery, located on State Hwy 26 in South Otselic, New York, and at the Town Park.

People of all ages and interests are invited and welcome to attend this special day, which includes the Otselic Valley Grange’s annual community garage sales and beef barbecue luncheon. Attendance is free, free parking is available throughout the village, and a free shuttle will operate between the Town Park and the State Fish Hatchery. Food will be available at the community’s local eating establishments, and from local nonprofit organizations set up in the Town Park.

Local Sponsorships $25: Local businesses and residents are invited to help sponsor this event. For $25, sponsors’ names will appear in bold print in the event brochure, which will be distributed prior to, as well as during the event.

Place mat Listings $10: Businesses will be listed on a place mat, featuring the event’s schedule of activities. These place mats will be distributed to the local area’s restaurants and cafés.
